Juice review
Season 2 of Juice aired on BBC and it is all I have been watching the past few days and I have finally finished it!
This show is probably one of the best things I have seen on TV recently. From the queer POC representation to the family dynamics and the growth of each character it was wonderful!
Each episode has a special way of adding humour and depth to the plot! My favourite episode was House sh*tting! Firstly it comes across as a silly sitcom but once you truly watch you see the depth of the conversations the characters have! We have a added in character who is looking to get therapy and speaks on his relationship with his wife as Mawaans dad hides in the closet and listens to the man speak on what he may want to say himself. But like most south asian men he does not have the emotional intelligence to say it.
Then the mother who is now too successful for her husband and wants a divorce and wants a man to fulfill her needs. This coming from a south asian woman who immigrated to England is so beautiful! Seeing a woman like that choose herself and be selfish is the representation the world needs. Also the symbolism of the whole family taking over Guy’s house and destroying everything, even expensive art pieces really shows the internal healing that family needs.
Honestly please take some time out and watch this on BBC iPlayer! You will not regret it
